Students will be running laps on our course to raise money for the school, the above link to our PayPal account can be used to accept flat donations. If you are donating for a specific student make sure you put the student’s name in the notes so they will get credit for the raffle!
Thank you and good luck to all our Mustangs this Thursday!
Why the change? Lawmakers and education officials didn’t like that students who missed out by just a few points on the high-stakes tests were being kept from graduating. Adding a variety of paths to graduation recognizes multiple types of learning…flexibility for students who aim to pursue a technical career, join the military or enroll in a two-year degree program.

Please join us for HPE’s first movie night of the year!
We are showing the new, live action Aladdin. Dinner is provided by the PTA, and there will be popcorn for sale, a raffle as well as a bake sale to support our 5th graders’ annual Islandwood student retreat.
Wear your favorite PJs, bring pillows or sleeping bags!
HPIC (The Highland Park Improvement Club) is hosting Denise Nelson, owner of Happy BITES to offer several free cooking classes to kids! The slots are all filled for now, but she said she will be offering more in the future because of all the interest!
You can find the link on our Facebook page here! We will keep an eye on this and try to give people notice for the next time!
Buy Nothing Highland Park is a chapter of the Buy Nothing movement. Several members are holding a back to school supply drive today. I know it’s last minute notice, but if you are in need of supplies you may be able to contact the organizers in the next few days and pick some stuff up. They already gave us a lot of things for teachers (white board markers, craft items, and a TON of paper), but there is a lot more available! Many items that were left in last year’s lost and found were donated so if you need anything, especially coats and sweatshirts, they have it! The organizers are on 15th and Elmgrove. Please use the contact form if you are interested! And if you are not a member of the Buy Nothing group, here is the link to their Facebook account: Buy Nothing Highland Park
Welcome to Highland Park Elementary! This blog is written by our PTA, but it is intended to be for parents, teachers, students, neighbors, local businesses – anyone interested in our community!
Highland Park Elementary is a special place. Our student body is around 350 students, with an amazing and dedicated staff. Our school is one of the most diverse in the entire state of Washington. What a gift to have so many cultures and languages represented!
